First Dance

I have been asked loads of time over the years by couples getting married to suggest a good song for the first dance at their wedding and I always start with “well it depends”. It might be a song that sums up the couple as people, or perhaps it sums up their relationship or perhaps its a song that they always made up to. That song is always highly personal it will forever after be “Our Song” so make it a good one.
Keep an open mind with regard to musical tastes – your partner may be onto a winner – don’t discount it if the genre isn’t usually one to your liking.

Keep the timing simple, and unless you were booted off at the final round, leave the “Strictly Come Dancing” moves for later. On a final note, you may want to locate a shorter track of your song unless you want to have your wedding party join you on the dance floor.

Here are my current top ten Vintage Jukebox suggestions for first dance wedding songs, happy dancing!

That’s Amore – Dean Martin
Something Stupid – Frank and Nancy Sinatra
The Way You Look Tonight – Frank Sinatra
Can’t Take My Eyes Off You – Andy Williams ( or Frankie Valli)
Can’t Help Falling in Love – Elvis Presley
Wonderful Tonight – Eric Clapton
She – Charles Aznavour ( or Elvis Costello)
We’ve Only Just Begun – The Carpenters
Let’s Stay Together – Al Green
L.O.V.E. – Nat King Cole
